Year 1 Maths - Capacity

Over the week we have been exploring capacity in Year 1. We learnt about ‘full’, ‘empty’ and ‘half full’ as well as ‘overflowing!’ We also looked at 'nearly full' and 'nearly empty'. We enjoyed filling containers and comparing which containers held more. We lined containers up in order of height. We explored lots of questions such as: does the tallest container always hold the most water? What kind of containers are best for holding liquid?
